Arrowhead Identification:

Arrowhead plants are very common out in Ruby's Wetland Bank.



Cattail Identification

Cattails on the edge of the wetland.

Native cattail: This species has no gap between the male and female parts on the stem. Leaves can be up to 1" wide.


Narrow Leafed Cattail: Leaves are 0.5" or less, and there is up to 1.5" gap between the male and female parts

Comparison between the native and the narrow leaf cattails.


Hybrid Cattail: This species has two or three apparent sex parts and smaller gaps. They appear to show off parts and pieces of the other two species.
